Project Overview

The SWING: Supporting Women in Economic Growth project aims to strengthen women’s access to the labour market by supporting and developing existing home-based and small businesses in Hebron Governorate. The project delivers an integrated package of practical training, professional mentorship, and direct financial grants to enhance income generation, improve business practices, and promote the economic sustainability of women-led enterprises.

The project falls under the self-employment and women’s entrepreneurship pathway and responds directly to locally identified needs highlighted by Local Employment and Training Councils (LETCs). It focuses on women who face concrete challenges in developing their businesses or expanding their customer base within the local market.

Project Objectives

  • Support women business owners to improve their economic performance and growth potential.
  • Strengthen participants’ practical and business skills in line with the realities of their enterprises.
  • Enable women to access small financial resources that contribute to business development.
  • Enhance linkages with local expertise and markets through structured mentorship and guidance.

Main Project Components

1. Specialized Practical Training
Implementation of a three-day hands-on training program targeting women with existing businesses, focusing on product development, marketing, pricing, and basic business management.

2. Mentorship and Guidance
Provision of group and individual mentorship sessions delivered by experienced local women entrepreneurs, supporting participants in addressing practical challenges and improving business performance.

3. Direct Support Grants
Provision of direct financial grants to 10 women-led small businesses, dedicated to purchasing essential materials or equipment needed for business development, based on a clear and transparent selection mechanism.

4. Visual Content Production
Documentation of success stories and business development journeys through the production of a short video highlighting the project’s impact on participating women.

Beneficiaries

  • 10 women owning existing home-based or small businesses in Hebron Governorate.
  • Participants will be selected from different areas, including Hebron city, Bani Naeem, Dura, and Al-Shyoukh.
  • Selection will be based on clear criteria that consider business seriousness, continuity, and actual need for support.

Expected Results

  • Tangible improvement in the performance of at least 10 women-led businesses, reflected through increased income or access to new markets.
  • At least 8 businesses demonstrate positive indicators of growth and sustainability following project completion.
  • Increased confidence among participants in their entrepreneurial capacities and improved business management practices.
  • Enhanced integration of women into the self-employment pathway and the local labour market.
