Hebron YDRC has concluded the "Small Women-Led Projects" competition, which was held over two days as part of the "Supporting Women in Economic Growth" project and funded by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). The competition brought together 45 women owners of small and home-based businesses from Hebron Governorate.
The competition aimed to enhance opportunities for women entrepreneurs to access the financial support needed to develop their businesses and improve their sustainability. A specialized committee evaluated the participating projects according to specific criteria, including project feasibility, growth and development potential, and expected economic impact.
As a result of the competition, 12 women were selected to receive small financial grants to support and expand their businesses. The grants are intended to strengthen their productive capacities, promote the economic sustainability of their enterprises, support their active participation in the labor market, and reinforce the role of women in local economic development.
The activity forms part of a series of specialized training programs implemented by the project for women owners of small and home-based businesses in Hebron Governorate. The training focused on project management, financial planning, marketing, and entrepreneurial capacity-building, in addition to providing professional guidance and mentoring. These efforts were designed to ensure that participants were well prepared to compete for and effectively utilize the financial grants to grow their businesses.
The activity is part of the broader efforts of the "Supporting Women in Economic Growth" project to advance women's economic empowerment and improve their access to economic resources and opportunities. The project seeks to increase women's economic participation and support their resilience and financial independence through training, mentoring, and funding opportunities for small and home-based businesses in Hebron Governorate.
